In an era marked by rapid technological advancements and a huge amount of change – some good, some bad, few companies manage to not only survive but thrive for a quarter of a century!!
That’s just a small part of why we are so proud to celebrate Quorum’s 25th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in our journey of innovation, resilience, and growth.
We asked Quorum’s Director’s a few questions about the factors that we think have made Quorum so successful.
Aileen Clark is Quorum’s Services Director.
She joined Quorum in 2012.
One of the cornerstones of Quorum’s success has been our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and to positively impacting our customers businesses. This customer-first philosophy has earned us a loyal customer base of like-minded companies that we are proud to partner with.
We asked Aileen: What strategies have been key in building and maintaining customer relationships?
“We are very proud to work with a diverse range of customers. Some have been with us from the very start of the Quorum journey, and some have joined us along the way.
For each customer, no matter the service we provide, we aim to do the right thing and treat each customer’s IT as if it were our own. We try to be easy to work with and approachable, listening and adapting to our customers’ needs and striving to deliver the best service we possibly can.
Each of our services is tailored to a customer’s requirements, reviewed often and flexible, changing in shape and size over time to match their changing businesses.
Our talented people are encouraged to learn and try new things, staying ahead of the technology curve. We adopt these innovations to provide continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of the services we provide.
Ultimately, it’s all about building mutual trust and partnerships at all levels within our customers. Everyone in Quorum has a part to play in this, we treat our people well and they pay that forward to our customers.”
James Frost is Quorum’s Data and AI Director.
He joined Quorum in 2013.
The past 25 years have seen unprecedented changes in technology and business operations. Quorum’s ability to adapt to these changes has been a key factor in our longevity. The company has continuously evolved its services and products to meet the demands of a rapidly changing market. From being at the forefront of digital banking, to pioneering cloud technologies, to swiftly and effectively guiding our customers through a global pandemic and several lockdowns.
We asked James: How has Quorum adapted to changes in the market and industry trends over the years?
“Quorum have always had a strong focus on training, certification, and industry best practice, and regularly send our staff to the major technology conferences to learn about the latest developments from the product teams themselves.
More importantly, we engage with our clients at a business level to really understand how they work, and where technology can drive real business value.
By combining leading edge IT knowledge and business understanding, Quorum have become the glue between what’s possible in IT, and the challenges faced by our clients.”
Jamie Prady is Quorum’s Development Director.
He joined Quorum in 2005.
Innovation has always been at the heart of Quorum’s success. Over the past 25 years, we’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. This culture of innovation encourages continuous learning ensuring our teams remain at the cutting edge of industry advancements.
We asked Jamie: How do you balance maintaining Quorum’s heritage while driving it towards future innovation?
“When I started with Quorum, it was to work on a product called “Microsoft Speech Server”. It was new, innovative, and something that may or may not grab the market. Spoiler alert – it didn’t. But the essence of what it was – taking speech, effectively natural language – and allowing you to interact programmatically with it is at the heart of what we’re doing today with AI.
It’s that innovation and challenge of keeping the company fresh, technically relevant and a fun place to work that continues to drive us. We have to do new things and work differently as the tech and business worlds change around us and as we continue to grow.
We don’t always get it right, and the challenges that face a 140-person company in today’s climate are very different to my first day almost 19 years ago – but the fundamentals of Quorum – what we’re driven by, what we’re trying to do, and the people we want to be, is still right there!”
Kenny Inglis is Quorum’s Consultancy Director.
He joined Quorum in 2012.
Quorum’s success is not just built on technology but on a strong company culture nurtured by Andy and Charles from the very beginning. It may sound trite, but the success of Quorum really does depend on our incredible people.
We asked Kenny: How would you describe the company culture, and how has it developed over the years?
“Quorum has an embedded culture of learning, in an environment where knowledge sharing, and skill development are encouraged and supported.
We focus on developing high performing individuals and those individuals help shape our services and drive continuous improvement across the whole business.
Our culture has grown with the business, it fundamentally hasn’t changed since Quorum was founded, we’ve just made it a bigger part of who we are and in doing so have managed to attract even more talent to join us.
We are Good People, with the freedom to Be Ourselves, Doing the Right Thing, and Finding Solutions for ourselves and our clients.”
Here’s to the next 25 years of excellence and innovations!
