Someone who puts real care into their CV
I’m not looking for Shakespeare but as a minimum I don’t want to see typos, no random formatting, and definitely no “written by AI” vibes. Your CV is your first impression, so I want to see you’ve put effort into it and showing why you’re right for the role.
Someone who’s actually looked us up
It’s surprising how many people haven’t! The best candidates:
- Read our Candidate Brochure
- Look at out website
- Have a quick scroll through our LinkedIn page and posts
- Have a basic understanding of what we do
You don’t need to memorise our history, but a bit of effort goes a long way! Bonus points if you’ve had a look at our LinkedIn or read a case study and manage to bring your knowledge up naturally in our chat.
Someone who’s read the job advert (properly)
If I ask you a question and you can relate your answer back to the responsibilities or the tech in the advert, I’m already interested. It shows you care and that you’re paying attention.
Someone who talks to me like a person
One‑word answers aren’t conversation. I love when candidates engage, ask questions, and treat the interview like a two‑way chat. We’re not here to trip you up, we’re seeing if we’d work well together.
Someone honest about their experience
You don’t need to tick every single box. Genuinely. Tell me what you know, tell me what you don’t know. We hire for team fit and attitude far more than we hire for a “complete” checklist.
Someone who makes a little effort
We’re a dress‑down company day‑to‑day, but showing you’ve made some effort for the interview tells me you’re taking it seriously (we had someone come in with a swear word on their t-shirt!)
Someone who loves technology and can explain it to mere mortals like myself!
You don’t need to be the world’s greatest engineer. What I want to see is genuine enthusiasm for tech, and the ability to talk about it in a clear, friendly way.
Someone who really loves to learn
Technology never stands still, and neither do we. If you enjoy picking up new skills and staying curious, you’ll fit right in.
And last, but not least, and very important… someone with a sense of humour
We work hard, but we also want to enjoy our working environment.
