Quorum Recognised as the most Certified Veeam Partner in Scotland

Quorum has been recognised, by Veeam, as the most certified partners in Scotland. Recently, Veeam released the latest VMSP 2021 and VMTSP 2021 certifications. Renewing to the latest certifications are critical to Quorum because it demonstrates our knowledge and expertise on how best to implement Veeam for our customers with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and Veeam Backup & Replication services.

One customer, a leading Scottish law firm, backed up their servers with standard LTO-5 tapes, which equated to using 8-10 backup tapes per week with an average spend of £640-£800 per month. When adding this to the cost of the services provided to pick up, store and maintain the tapes, the customer’s off-site backup costs were approximately £1,500 per month. At its peak, our customer had over 1,060 backup tapes in storage.

Due to COVID-19 and lockdown within the UK, this was no longer a viable backup solution, as staff were not on-site to change tapes or schedule pickups from their provider. Moreover, this is also an outdated solution that could potentially have a much higher expense than using a cloud solution.

Quorum proposed a more modern and reliable solution leveraging our customer’s investment in Veeam Backup Software. Using technology such as Azure and AWS to air gap their off-site backups allowed the customer to create an immediate copy of backups and store them in Microsoft Azure, resolving the issue of backing up their information on tapes and store them off-site.

Over five years, the estimated cost savings equates to a forecast of £50K+ and will introduce a secure, resilient solution with both on-site and off-site backups.
