DATA ENGINEER

Quorum is one of the largest Microsoft Partner’s in Scotland, as well as a Microsoft Direct Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP). We are currently looking to add a permanent Data Engineer to our well established and rapidly growing data team.

Whilst we are considering Data Engineer’s with varying levels of experience, you will hit the ground running supporting the Data team working across a wide variety of client projects working across both our SME and Enterprise client base.

Training and development of every employee is hugely important at Quorum, you will be supported and developed at every stage in your career with us and we have our own Microsoft Certified Trainer within the data team. We even pay bonus on the Microsoft Accreditations you gain.

The role of a Data Engineer:

  • Work with our clients to scope design data solutions which meet their analytical requirements.
  • Design and build Data Warehouse and Data Lake / Lakehouse solutions across a range of Microsoft Technologies, primarily Microsoft Fabric.
  • Design and develop complex ETL processes.
  • Design and deliver robust data infrastructure and networking components to ensure secure, scalable and high-performing data platforms which protect client data.
  • Ensure solutions are properly documented from both a technical design and support perspective.

What we are looking for:

  • Good customer facing skills – able to run requirements workshops with internal and external customers and document solutions.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies, primarily Fabric, Power BI, Azure and SQL Server.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Solid coding abilities in data manipulation languages / frameworks such as Data Factory, Python or SQL.
  • Any reporting experience ideally across Power BI, Tableau or Qlik would be an advantage.
  • Any statistics skills would be advantageous.
