It’s Scottish Apprenticeship Week and we are looking for the next generation of apprentices!

We are currently recruiting apprentices to join our Managed Service team who have completed their level 6 IT Systems and Networking apprenticeship and wish to continue their education by pursuing their level 8 IT Systems and Networking apprenticeship with us.

We recognise the benefits apprenticeships bring to our business, and are passionate about training the next generation of tech talent. It’s no secret that there is an ever-widening tech skills gap, indeed a recent ‘Future of Work’ survey by Monster.com found that tech (46%), computer (39%), and occupation specific-training such as credentialing and licenses (35%) topped the list of most-needed hard-skills training at workplaces across the country.

Analysis by McKinsey also suggests that virtually every UK worker needs reskilling: about 30.5 million UK workers (94 percent of today’s workforce) lack the full suite of skills they will require in 2030 to perform their jobs well. By ensuring our apprentices learn the right skills from the ground up and have access to continual work-based learning we can help kick start their careers and secure our company’s future growth at the same time. We asked our wonderful Recruitment Manager, Jackie Begbie, why Apprenticeships are such an important part of our hiring strategy:

Before joining Quorum, I took time out from recruitment and joined the world of Scottish Modern Apprenticeships working for QA Apprenticeships which is where I became aware of Quorum. When I moved back into recruitment for Quorum I knew I wanted to continue introducing young people into the workplace and show them that there is no single, ‘correct’ route to your career.

Apprenticeships are an integral part of our business and we’re proud to support their ongoing training and development once they have completed their Modern Apprenticeship and are embarking on their new career. Our apprentices really enjoy putting what they have learned via QA Apprenticeships into practice in the workplace and very quickly become strong team players always willing to assist colleagues.

I love working with our apprentices and I take great joy in seeing them flourish as they grow both their skillset and confidence.

Apprentices bring a different outlook into our teams and a fresh approach to some difficult challenges and we welcome their ideas.
