SENIOR SECURITY ENGINEER

We are currently looking to add a Senior Security Engineer to our growing team to work on maintaining and improving our Managed Security Service.

The role of a Senior Security Engineer:

  • Serving as an escalation point for cyber incidents, security alerts, and engineering tasks
  • Integrating threat intelligence feeds into Microsoft Defender solutions to enhance threat detection accuracy and response effectiveness
  • Developing and refining detection rules, policies, and profiles to strengthen threat detection capabilities
  • Managing and maintaining the technology stack that supports our Managed Security Service
  • Conducting security risk analysis for existing and new systems, and recommend solutions for reducing exposure areas
  • Performing proactive threat hunting activities across client environments
  • Implementing and managing security configurations for endpoints, emails, identities, and cloud applications ensuring compliance with security policies and standards
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for security processes, systems, procedures, and events
  • Delivering reporting, analytics, and technical support to both clients and internal teams
  • Leading the onboarding process for clients onto security management platforms

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a cyber security role, ideally within an MSP
  • Extensive experience in configuring and managing Microsoft Defender products, including strong familiarity with Microsoft MDE, MDO, MDCA, MDI and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and security configurations
  • Deep understanding of modern cyber threats, attack techniques, and security mitigation strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for incident investigation and threat analysis.
  • Communication is key, being able to take a technical issue and work with both technical people and be able to decipher and relate problems to business leaders.

  • Mentoring junior members of the team
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Automation & Scripting: Strong skill in Kusto Query Language (KQL), Logic App configuration to create automation for security orchestration
