Why Deep iManage Knowledge Matters

Quorum’s team of iManage experts has many more years of experience than we’d care to admit… working with iManage, supporting firms as the platform has moved from on‑premises deployments to iManage’s cloud services. That experience shapes how we support customers now, giving us a clear view of the longer‑term impact of earlier decisions, where issues tend to resurface, and which approaches hold up over time in real environments.

At the same time, experience alone is not enough. Platforms change, expectations shift, and the way systems are used day-to-day rarely stays still for long. That is why we actively invest in certification as part of how we maintain and refresh our iManage knowledge, ensuring it remains current, consistent, and aligned with how the platform is used today rather than how it worked in the past!

A Strong Microsoft Foundation

A large part of Quorum’s expertise sits in the Microsoft space, which matters because iManage now operates within that ecosystem rather than alongside it. For most organisations, Microsoft 365, Azure, identity and security tooling form the backbone of the environment iManage relies on, and understanding how those elements fit together is essential if support and advice are going to reflect how systems are actually used.

As a result, iManage is no longer experienced as a separate system that sits to one side of everyday work, but as part of the same tools people already rely on. Documents are created and edited in Word, emails managed in Outlook, collaboration happens in Teams, and iManage provides the governance and control behind that activity. The formal partnership between iManage and Microsoft, alongside the move of iManage cloud services onto Azure, has reinforced this way of working.

Supporting iManage properly therefore depends on understanding the wider environment it operates within, not just iManage itself.

A Joined up Approach Across iManage and Microsoft

This is where Quorum’s position becomes particularly relevant. We are the only UK-based iManage Implementation Partner and Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider, as well as being one of around 40 partners worldwide to hold the Microsoft Support Services designation, and that matters far more in practice than it does as a statement.

When iManage and Microsoft are treated as separate specialisms, gaps appear. When they are treated as part of the same environment, decisions tend to be better informed, conversations clearer, and support more realistic. Issues can be understood in context rather than in isolation, and changes made in one area are less likely to create problems somewhere else. That joined up view shapes how we approach design, delivery and ongoing support.

Experience Backed by Ongoing Learning

Long‑term experience brings perspective, helping to recognise patterns, understand trade‑offs and avoid mistakes that often only become apparent over time, but it can also introduce blind spots if learning stops.

Certifications help us challenge that by providing structured, up‑to‑date learning that reflects how iManage is being built, secured and extended today, not just how it worked in the past. Combined with ongoing delivery and support, this continuous learning helps ensure our understanding keeps pace with both the platform itself and the environments our customers operate in, and that balance between experience and continued development has shaped how we approach iManage for years.

iManage Knowledge Across the Business

Over the last year in particular, iManage knowledge has continued to spread more widely across Quorum outside of the teams or roles that typically work with iManage. More people across different teams are building hands-on experience with the platform, supported by structured learning and certification where it adds value.

Supporting iManage well is rarely the responsibility of a single role. It touches service desk support, project delivery, security, cloud infrastructure and user adoption.

Rather than relying on a select number of specialists, this broader base of knowledge helps ensure that iManage is supported effectively day to day, even as environments change and teams evolve.

Investing Across the iManage Platform

Our iManage certification focus has deliberately covered the breadth of the platform, reflecting how customers actually use it in practice rather than concentrating on a single feature or role.

That includes areas such as: cloud onboarding and readiness, security and threat management, information governance and disposition, Ask iManage and knowledge access, core system engineering, and application training and frontline support. We also keep a close eye on iManage’s platform direction and roadmap, so advice is grounded not only in what is possible today but in what is coming next.

We’re not just picking up credentials for the sake of it, but to make sure knowledge exists across the areas that matter most to our customers, and that it is shared across teams rather than sitting with a select number of individuals.

Expertise That Is Maintained

Experience is built over time, but expertise has to be maintained through effort. For Quorum, investing in iManage certifications is part of that maintenance, helping ensure long standing experience stays relevant and knowledge keeps pace with change.

That combination of experience, ongoing learning and a joined up view across iManage and Microsoft underpins how we support iManage environments today, and how we intend to continue doing so as the platform evolves.
