Infrastructure Engineer
Quorum is one of the largest Microsoft Partner’s in Scotland, as well as a Microsoft Direct Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP).
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This is an opportunity to work across a broad range of cloud, infrastructure, networking and modern workplace technologies while helping clients get more value from their IT investments.
Working closely with our Service Desk, Consultancy and Project teams, you will act as a technical escalation point for complex issues while helping clients improve resilience, security and operational efficiency. You’ll combine technical troubleshooting, customer engagement, service improvement and project delivery, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and solving real-world business challenges.
The role aligns with Quorum’s established engineering function, bridging support and consultancy while focusing on proactive service improvement and cloud-first infrastructure.
We are interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Cloud Infrastructure & Azure
- Modern Workplace & Microsoft 365
- Networking & Security
- Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity
- Automation & Operational Excellence
You do not need experience in every technology listed. We value curiosity, problem-solving ability, customer focus and a willingness to learn just as highly as specific product knowledge. If you can demonstrate strong engineering capability in some of these areas and are excited to develop further, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Provide technical leadership and escalation support for complex infrastructure, cloud and networking issues.
- Design, implement and support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
- Support and enhance network and security platforms, including Cisco Meraki switching, wireless and firewall technologies.
- Manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions using Veeam and cloud-native technologies.
- Deliver proactive maintenance, lifecycle management and service improvement activities.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline operational processes using PowerShell, APIs and modern management tools.
- Support security technologies including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Conditional Access and identity management platforms.
- Collaborate with consultants, project teams and service desk analysts to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
- Support client onboarding projects and technology transitions.
- Mentor colleagues and share knowledge across the wider team.
